Looking For Heads On the Beach

I am constantly on the look out for these very small round pebbles. Good ones can be pretty elusive, for they must be round, but not too round. Perfect in their imperfections. Like people no two are ever exactly alike.

I will spend days sifting through the many tiny stones as the waters edge in Nova Scotia, sometimes with a yield so small it will fit into a sandwich bag. Like collecting tiny peas spread haphazardly along the coastline.
